Here is another option.  A few planes around these parts have been built with this cable.
This 1/32" (.031")  3x7 cable is very flexible which is nice to help prevent the random hanger rash induced kink in your leadouts.

- 3x7 hollow core has three strands of wire rope with seven wires in each strand, formed helically around a hollow core
- 3x7 hollow core is flexible and fatigue-resistant

Who has .032" 7 strand stainless cable?

I got several types from McMaster-Carr.

What is your concern with .027" cable" ? Do you really think the .005" would make a big difference? Remember, you are flying on .018" lines. Each lead out is nearly .010" larger.

I use the .027" from McMaster Carr, it is rated at 110# breaking strength.  Flexiblity is good, just right for me.  Its 7 strand, not 3x7.  Comes from Loos Cable, confirmed this with Loos.

I used them. I got different types— maybe not all from McM— to pick the smoothest. The 7-strand stuff was pretty much all the same.

You can also get Sevenstrand (brand) cable from Cabela's, but the problem is that they rate it by pound test and not diameter. If you have a Cabela's store nearby, take a micrometer and you're good. If you have to order online, not so much. Make sure you do NOT get the plastic coated version.  D>K Steve

Regarding the stranded 0.031 cable:  1 X 7 and 7 X 7 are available from sources such as McMaster-Carr.  Which of these two is preferred?

The 7 X 7 is more flexible but the strands are thinner.  Would it be more susceptible to individual strands fraying and breaking where it goes thru the leadout guide?  As for the 1 X 7, it is stiffer and coarser.  Would it tend to "saw" thru the leadout guide, especially if the guide were nylon?

This company has some stainless multi-strand cable.
I've used it many times in industry - top quality stuff.
