Ready for sanding, then some ink lines, and some clear. Hope to have it done in a couple of weeks. Temperature was -4 this morning, so I stayed in my shop all day. Jan brought my lunch and slid it under the door. It's 7:30 pm, I think it's time for supper and some Green Bay football. Everyone stay warm.

Blessings

Allen,  the Caprice looks really nice.  Please keep me in mind if something happens toward the end of the finishing process.  More importantly, will it take off in grass???
Will talk to you soon.

Hey Mike, if it doesn't like grass takeoffs you can toss it repeatedly like you did my Crosswind a few years back!  I got rid of that brand x engine and now the monster leaps out of the grass.
But----if Allen's won't,  you know the drill! LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ y1 y1 y1

Will,

Yea, I'm starting to pretty good at the grass thing.  Roger and I are thinking about hiring out at the Nats this year.

On another new plane note, I'm am attaching a couple of pics of my new bird.  I'm calling it the "Avenger C/L". It's ready for covering, just got to find some motivation.

Looking forward to all of us getting together soon.

Take care,
Mike

I will be shutting clear this week end. Got to get this off the bench and get back to work on my Ryan STA scale ship. And, I am sure it will handle the grass. Its the same as Rogers, and his did well. Your ship is looking good, I know about the motivation thing.  Hope to talk soon.

Blessings

Hey Mike, Great looking ship!  I can't wait to see this one fly.  Are you going with the header muffler setup again?  And do you expect the 8 second laps?  (Okay, okay, maybe I stretch it a tiny bit.) n1 n1 n~ :!

Hi Bill:

No more Bronze Dogs!? Obviously you never had the pleasure of meeting the original "Bronze Dog," Murphy Brown! She was the one that prompted Billy to make the Bronze Dog comment in the first place. For those who have never heard the story...

Since 1972 I have been using either bronze, copper or some other metallic earth tone as trim on my stunt models. The base coats have always been white, but the main trim color has been a metallic earth tone with red and black as accent colors. Yes, this is the original Genesis scheme, but other designs have worn the signature colors, including my Caprice.

Well, Bill Werwage voiced his displeasure (in fun of course... I think) with my trim color choice early one, and kept voicing his objections each year as another one would join my arsenal. After about 12 or 13 of them he commented to me, "Do you have a 55 gallon drum of that S***?" I knew it was getting to him so just for kicks I painted one with a two-tone bronze and metallic brown over white trim scheme (My Mackey Lark...).

Then one day in 1993 I received a Golden Retriever as a gift. We named her Murphy Brown Dog (Not to be confused with Larry Bird Dog, who lived down the street from us...). As soon as I got her I called Billy to bust his chops. When he answered the phone I exclaimed, "Guess what Billy, I even have a Bronze Dog!" To which he instantly replied, "Bob, you've had a lot of bronze dogs." And then he hung up before I could reply! Actually I had no come back for that one. Billy is well known for his sharp and quick wit.

Billy often came to visit and stay for several days at a time. On his first visit after his BD comment he got to meet the Murph, and they became great friends. Murphy would even go into the guest bedroom and sleep on the floor next to Bill; something she never did with anyone else! Billy would sit facing her and whisper things to her for several minutes in a row, and Murph would sit watching him intently as if she understood every word. They were great friends and Murph always loved it when Billy came to visit. That was one Bronze Dog that Billy truly loved!

Attached is a photo of a very mistreated Murphy Brown...

Bob Hunt

Hi Bob,

Murphy was truly a beautiful *Bronze Dog*!  ;D

As Paul Harvey would say...............
