latest project
« on: November 16, 2010, 07:55:29 AM »
Hey guys this is one of my latest projects……..a new stunt flyer! This is my little girl Layla and her very first plane! My son Gavin flies some and can do a few maneuvers but he is so busy he does not spend much time flyin. Layla has always seemed to have a strong interest in dad and my planes. She loves to go to dad’s shop and “help” me work on my planes. She has been asking dad, aka Grandpa Dale when he was going to build her a plane. So here it is, her very own Tomahawk. Dad built it and I painted it. We have not been out to fly it yet but hopefully we will before the bad weather reaches GA.

Derek,
Layla is a treasure. Might be a while before she can fly that enormous airplane.

My son spent a lot of time in my shop when he was little. He's a pretty good flyer too. Shame he just doesn't have time these days. Maybe eventually.

She is Soooo cute. We had one like that, and it is really hard not to spoil them rotten. They tend to wrap daddy's around there little fingers.

Derek , that is very cool!!  I , like your dad, have a grand daughter Layla, she also shows more interest in my airplanes than my grandson, especially the "pretty" ones. She is four years old and we plan to assemble one of the Blackhawk Pee Wee Pup kits together this winter .  Oh yeah, we plan to steal your color scheme.  <=

Derek,
Oh I won't let my 3 year old twin girls see this photo!  They have already been asking about flying and they also like to 'help' out in the shop. They can also name all of my planes. Too cute!  At the recent Golden State Stunt Championships they told me they wanted to fly too (after watching daddy fly)  I've already thought about doing something like that for my girls and you beat me to it!  I dig the flowers on the wings!

Now Glenn, you have it backwards.  She is as cute as a bugs ear.  I like the color scheme on a good looking plane.  The combination should get 100+ points before the old man starts the engine.   H^^

Well, Layla will definitely be ringing true to Eric Clapton's song lyrics, she'll be breaking hearts and bringing guys down to their knees! The only thing missing from the model is her AMA number! I started taking my son Sean to the flying field as soon as he could walk, and the diaper bag was loaded in the car along with models and flight boxes. He's had his AMA membership since then as I figured that the extra insurance for only a buck or two each year was well worth it.`I think a Junior membership with no magazine is still only a dollar.
Enjoy her while she is still that small, in my opinion the age when they are the most fun. In two blinks of an eye, she'll be into boys and make up and dating and "Dad when can I drive the car?" and college and other stuff! n~ n~ n~ n~  They do grow up TOOOOOOO fast!!! y1

Hi Little Buddy!

Layla sure is a cute little girl!  It was great to see her at Huntersville.  In fact, it was great to see the "Barry Family" again!  Maybe Aaron's little girl, Alex, will finally get out to fly.  His son, Gabe, is starting to bug us about it!  It's all good.

Any more names from "Derek and the Dominos" planned? LOL!!  (had to throw that in there........ ;D )

Nope,  it is now up to $3.00 without the magazine.  $15.00 with the mag.  Have one receiving the mag with his license.   H^^
