Hi guys,

It's been a while since I posted some of my handy work so here goes... Here are the models I've built in the past month...

1. Sig Shoestring  - I dont know why I built this, but I thought I would make something that goes fast. The engine is a Taipan 2.5cc twin ballrace engine with 7x4 prop. Needs a bigger venturi to go harder. It turned out alright I guess. More of a model to look at than fly. Damn thing wont do aerobatics :-)

2. Brodak Super Clown - Have had the kit for this one for some time purchased from SSHobbies. I decided to cover it with Litespan. Engine is an OS LAS 25. Very nice and amazingly it flies best with a 10x5 prop! That's the same size prop as the one on my LA40 powered Vector 40.

3. 1957 Aldrich Peacemaker - I used to own a Jr Flite Streak but it was stolen with my car last August. Been meaning to replace it when someone suggested I should scratch build a Peacemaker instead.  So I did.  Engine is an old Fox .15X (slant plug) with muffler, covered in Silkspan and lightweight Modelspan tissue. Came out pretty light at 13.5 oz. Should be ready to fly in a day or two.

I hope you like them.

Cheers

Hi Warren,  You have a nice fleet Down Under.  How did you like working with the blue poly covering?  Have you ever used a diesel on a model?  Cheers    :)

Nice stuff Warren-WOW, you built all three in a month??? The Shoestring might go better with a glass or wood prop, and not the "flexy" Top-Flite nylon job.
Narrowly averting disaster since 1964!

Hi Warren,

Nice looking squadron you have there!

For the Shoestring, get you a 6-8 wood or fiberglass prop!  I do believe the Taipan would turn it, and you! LOL!!  #^  n~

Hi Michael,

It was the first time I had used Litespan (now known as Coverlite) and I wasn't all that impressed with it but the final outcome was ok I guess. I actually own 2 x Mills .75 diesels used for Free Flight and I used to own a 2.5cc Taipan diesel when I was a teenager. That is all the experience I have with diesels.

Cheers
