--------------------  this is what happens.   LL~ LL~ (easier to laugh than cry!)

Finally got it trimmed out, making the best flight ever and then had an encounter with my own turbulence.

On the bright side, it looks like an almost perfect design; just about every part is broken! :o

You certainly had attained some ground speed.  Are you sure you were really out of airspeed?

I had an "incident" this weekend, too, practicing inverted flight.  Good thing I was flying an itty bitty 1/2A throwaway (sob).

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Bob,

We expect better than this from you. Pilots do make errors.

Bob,

Rebuilt it or make another one.  That was a cool airplane.

  • Welcome to the Stunt Hanger.
Just consider it part of your re-engineering process to evolve it into a take-apart design. ;D

Yes, I had lots of ground speed - unfortunately perpendicular to the ground!

No, I cannot rebuild it - it was actually much worse than the pictures show. I saved the flaps and empenage for another design.

Sad to see it go as it was really flying well.

Woah! Robert that sucks.
Actually was the suction from gravity that got it! HB~>

[[had an encounter with my own turbulence.]]
This is a problem with all except one of my airplanes. consecutive loops is where its worst.
The late afternoon practice I get is usually dead calm.
The Shark 45 based airplane seems to not have this problem.

Hate to see this happen to ya and a nice airplane.

HI Bob,

I really hate to see that.  It WAS a pretty plane!  Now you can move on, but losing a good one hurts for a while. y1

So sorry to see you lost one. I know I always joke with Bob, we go back a long ways but, I always like your work, and you never quite know what you are going to make next. Bob is a true builder!!

And a 4 stroke pioneer I might add. H^^

Bob,
That is a big loss. Next time you have take the ground magnets out of the airplane.

Seriously, I hope you build another one.

Man that stinks.  I know how hard you have been working the kinks out on it.

On the other hand I can make you a deal on a CARDINETTE - had a recent major "price" hike I'm afraid...!

CraSHING IS THE VERY THING THAT MAKES THIS SPORT SUCH A CHALLENGE. an artist hangs his painting on the wall and it is safe. We build a model and then tempt disaster by flying it.
