Late October Day at Delta Park
« on: October 27, 2008, 05:50:07 PM »
Six of us were out at Delta Park in Portland, Or today.  The day was unbelievably nice for Portland at this time of year.  70 degrees, clear skies and light winds.  All the planes went home in one piece.  All in all a great day.

I bet Jerry's camera will need a overhaul after taking picture of old geezer setting in chair. I wish he would upgrade what he is taking pictures of. Good time was had by all and I managed to get the blood to flow while sitting on hot rock.  Way to go Jerry! HB~> HB~> HB~> HB~> HB~> H^^

Way to go guys. Wish I could come out next month, but my trip got the budget ax.

Ah Yes! Delta Park1  i've been there when we had snow, rain, wind, drunk softballers, heat, crashed my best plane, had a kit stolen out of my van, gotten absolutly soaked, sunburned and wind burned.  all of that and more including poor flights, bad scores. What I have never had at Delta Park was a bad day! One of the truly great flying sites and nerly the best guys in the World as well! Attached are just three of those I talk about.

Hey Ron!!
Notice any BLANKETING IN HARD OUTSIDE SQUARE CORNERS????... LL~ LL~
I tried an experiment with a high stab placement with an old Nobler and reeeeeeeeeeeeally had trouble in the top corner of the hour glass and  all hard outside square corners.

Fun to experiment with stab placement...That same old Nobler I also tried an "X" stab n elevator arrangement with some really weird wobblies and hunting in level flight.  Then I saw a full floating stab with a "flying fork" by Bob Violet....but I never got around to actually installing it.
