Laser Locked Rib Update
« on: May 11, 2006, 07:16:38 PM »
The first picture shows the pull test bracing I have added to this plane. This allows the owner to place his hands in such a way that the full force of the pull test is applied directly to the belcrank area. This will eliminate stress on the airframe.

The second picture shows the full installation of the ribs. They fit well so I am proceeding with the project.

Hi Bill,

This is very interesting stuff you're doing.  Been following it along.

What are you planning to use for the rear "support spar"?  Either 1/16th vertical or "uprights"?

Thanks

Bill,

I think doing uprights on each rib would be the simplest choice...Don't you??

Hi Jim,

I think the uprights are all I would do.  The span isn't that long.  It may not need anything at all.

Bll,

You rocket won't fly!  It doesn't have an engine powering it!
