Larry Fernandez - New ultra light weight tip weight boxes are now available.

Yes Larry has once again exceeded his usual genius by developing these ultra light easy to install tip weight boxes. Using only the finest aerospace composites these boxes are less than 20% the weight of the usual heavy plywood tip weight boxes. Contact Larry himself for more details.

Actually it's not.
Larry has been developing these boxes to fill the requirements to have more control over the tip weight distribution.

The issue with plywood is it extends the weight vector out 1 inch further than really needed which causes tip isolatation errors under certain flap configurations. Especially with electrics. Having a light carbon version allows tip weight increments of .02 to be felt where needed at the tip and not 3/4 out.

I've got 5 of them for future wings. Excellent craftsmanship

Perhaps I am not seeing the big picture here but why would you need a tip weight box that weighs less than the needed tip weight?  I have put the "plywood" box in every ship I have built and none have ever ended up empty.  Now if we are talking one that is position adjustable, I can see that.

But if it’s light enough, you can mount it in the left wing and actually take off weight when you need more tip weight. Isn’t that great? L

I have a couple of airplanes that have empty tip weight boxes, and weight taped or mounted to the inboard wing. When I build a wing I don't do the "heavier ribs to the outboard wing" thing. I try to build the model, or modify and existing airplane new to me, to be balanced laterally.

I just seal up the center section and charge the left wing with helium.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Worth a try except for those pesky leadouts.  Maybe if we used leadins or followouts? :o

Getting a good gas-proof seal can be hard.  Purging the wing before each flight is recommended.

Ridiculous, helium, while lighter than air, still has mass. Great if you want to win the weigh-in, but you still have to haul it around corners.

I seal up my wing and fuselage and then pull a vacuum down to about 10 millibars, no mass added.

Hey Brett how are you feeling these days about your opinion to abandon Democracies in Europe? Isn't that what you implied way back when (a couple of years back) by your echos of Steve Bannon and Donnie?

Fact Check. Hey Brett who won the election fair and square in 2020?

Fact Check. Hey Brett, what do you think about the laptop? Smell anything rotten.

Hey Dennis, what the hell does your post have anything to do with tip weight boxes or model airplanes for that matter. Don’t be a Jack-off all your life.
I have seen your post on this board for years, and all you do is bait people and stir up $hit. I have never seen you make any positive contribution to this forum.

Don’t engage with a NUB.
It’s not a good use of your time.
When the NUB is a pornographer it’s especially wasteful of your time.
