I am using the stock tailwheel height. The impression I got is mostly an illusion. The Twister is the first full size control line plane I have built since getting back into C/L after 50 years.
I'm so used to seeing my flying buddy's competitive stunt ships that seem to hug the ground that this looked strange.
I am using the same wheels as shown on the plan which shows a floor to center line distance of 6.75". My plane has a center line to floor distance of 7" (this is with the center line parallel to the floor.
The largest prop I plan on putting on my LA40 is 11.5". This would give me a clearance of 1.25". On grass this would not be excessive.
It was late last night after a long building session and I was tired so when I finally put on the wheels and placed the model on the floor, it looked like it was very high.
I will start flying it this way and later on, if I want, I can lower it.
