   Well, the conditions for tomorrow will be "raw" at best. here is the recent weather forecast as of this morning;

            http://www.usairnet.com/cgi-bin/launch/code.cgi?sta=KSTL&model=avn&state=MO&Submit=Change+Location

   It's supposed to rain all day today, and tomorrow temps in the low 40s with winds will be in the high 20s to 30s sustained, with gusts to 40 in the morning! We'll have people there but use discretion if you are thinking about making the trip. This won't be a year where we are flying in T-shirts and watching bald eagles thermal overhead! Maybe next year?? Where is this global warming when you need it???

     You are not going to be missing much Doc! Right now as I'm going to bed, it's raining hard and the wind speed at the airport (Lambert Field) is 31MPH, not gusting but sustained wind! and it's sup[posed to get worse as the day goes on, but at least the rain is supposed to quit. Maybe the wind will blow winter away and we can have a real nice, long  spring this year?

 Well Dan, that sucks, but I'd sure trade ya.

 After calm winds with a very light mist all day yesterday it progressed into a light rain from about 3 to 6pm. At 6pm it was literally like someone flipped the switch and it started snowing, HARD. I've never seen it snow so hard, right here in town you couldn't see across the street, you could have sworn you were high up on a Colorado mountain.
 About the same time the wind picked up to a steady 25-30mph gusting to 40-50+ and the snow kept right along with it. Snow quit about 4 or 5am but the wind continues to howl as I type this. Ma Nature left us with at least a foot of snow with insane drifts everywhere. We're located at the interchange of I-35 and I-90 and they're both closed for at least 50 miles in every direction. Before this round we'd already had so much snow in the past month that I'm out of room to stack it here at home. Looking out the window right now there is a drift over the roof of my truck that's also packed in tight about 3 feet high from behind by the snowplow, at least a four foot high one all across the driveway and a good two feet on the deck and the front sidewalk and steps. Still trying to work out a plan for this one.  :(

Well the old DOC is sitting at the computer and looking out the window.  Bright sun light and no or very little wind.  Temps on the way o Church was in the 20's F degrees.  I still remember the first Ico-O-Lated Emmy and I attended.   30's when we pulled I.  in the 50's when Emmy and I flew,   30's on the way home.     Hey Wayne-O;
    NO THANKS! We have had more snow than we were predicted to have this year, and it's been colder. As I get older, the less I like the cold. We have had some winters here in my memory that had no snow and the temps never got below freezing. We have also had the opposite end of the spectrum with sub-zero cold and snow a foot at the time. I don't know if I could ever live in the more northern areas, though. St. Louis winters aren't that bad in general.
   I never did head to the field today. My wife is sick and it's her birthday. I didn't feel real great myself and we lost power for a while. With the wind the way it was, sitting around in the car while we waited to see who would show up just didn't appeal to me. I checked the weather through out the day, and the winds blew in the 30's most of the day so the wnd chill was bad enough even though it was sunny and the temp was 39 to 40 degrees.
   Good luck to you in dealing with the snow pile up. And take it easy!

The wind was strong (30 mph+) but all of the Perky and Fox 35 speed models were flown. Nobody showed up for Stunt but I don't blame them it was not a good day to fly CL stunt. but the speed models handled the wind really well. I will pull out the results and post them here later tonight.

It was cold, never got above 40 degs and with the wind it felt colder. But it's the challenge of trying to get a Fox 35 stunt running when it's that cold. We know it's cold but you gotta fly!

Come and join us in May for the CL speed contest when it warms up!

They are a hardy bunch.   Back ears ago I would have been there.  But old age and joints, especially knees are catching up with me. D>K
