Huge thanks to Phillip Nickles for running the contest, and for judging as well with Jake Moon. Doug flew some damn good stunt after saying he hasn’t flown in months! I’d really hate to see what he can do with the new plane he’s working on, and flying even once a month!!

Advanced?  That’s unbecoming of a World Champion, even if you are really old now.

Tom is not so old.  It all depends on your point of view.

Not too many can match his record and achievements.  From the Combat World Champion (I was there - Sweden 1982), to a top tier F2C pilot on the world stage, now to an aspiring Stunt pilot outscoring some "seasoned" or rather "experienced" and recognized good pilots.  Few can match that or come close.

It was a great contest. Thanks to Phillip and Jake for judging, Jake came in from NY! The score keepers and admin table was flawless once again!

Matt's rig was working really nice. He was using heli fuel and when it calm he was flying in a fog! It was cool!

Sad part is that I think I was better when I was 15 but I couldn't beat some kid names Fitzgerald so I focused on combat and racing.

Thanks Keith!   Aspiring is the word.  I have some good coaching - hopefully I can learn.  This will be an interesting adventure to see if I can follow Howard from the combat team to the stunt circles.

It was good to get out again.  Only my third time out in a year.  First time in front of judges in two. It is so much more fun to fly in front of judges.  I had to leave early so I missed most of the 2nd round.  Sorry I did.  Doug, Matt and Gaylord put on quite a show from what I heard.  Thanks to Phillip for running a great contest.  Probably the calmest I have ever seen Dallas.  It was so calm the wake turbulence and exhaust trails were simply falling to the ground.
