LA S vs LA RC

Is there any difference in the timing between the LA CL and RC engines?

I myself would say no unless you have one of our stunt guru's work on it.  All mine have just had carb replaced with venturi and needle valve assembly.  Don't want to sound sarcastic with previous statement.  Maybe the experts will save my hide.   DOC Holliday

AFAIK,  the timing is the same on both the versions.  So I can't find any difference in the two.  About the only engine that I know of that is being produced now which has a different timing for the C/L vs. the R/c is the ST G51.  They have different sleeves with different port timing.

The FP40 RC and FP40S have the same timing. But the S version uses an extra head gasket. (An old article quoted on SSW brought this to my attention.) So it's possible the RC version and CL version of the LA 40 might also differ in that way. If the RC version runs away, an extra head gasket should be considered.

Aside from the obvious C/L differences, the LA R/C and C/L have all the same part numbers.
