So the total for the Alameda Aer-O-Nuts at Bill Osborne Field in Alameda, CA is 428 flights.

Who did the flying in Gilroy?

Yesterday at the Hi Johnson contest John Wright had a Ringmaster that we all took turns flying with John recording each name.  I would expect John to submit his results soon.  When I flew it was up to about 13, but there were other expected to fly.

It is great you got so many flights.  The one picture shows a fuel tank big enough for about 10 or 15 laps at most.  Great going tho and glad you had good turn out.  I tried t get grand kids to go with me, but , to no avail.  Just Sandy and myself after repacing the fuel tank with the one off the FireCat.  Three old time patterns today with the Ringmaster using a APC 10-6 prop really tamed the plane down.  May not be that much, but a lot better than I did last year.  Last year never got the plane off the hook.  Thanks for this challenge.  H^^

Doc

The planes were set up to fly 8 to 10 laps (small tanks on all planes). The hardest part was getting people to pit and get the planes back up in the air quickly. At one point the electric starter we had broke down but that was fixed and we were off and running again.  It was fun.

Larry and all who participated,

Wow!!! You all set a mark that may not fall for years to come!!!

The grand total this year = 886!!!

Your group had almost half of that total!!!

Next year we will hit that GOAL of over one thousand flights in one weekend!!!!
Makes for a REAL challenge next year!!
 (October 1-2, 2011)!!
