Title: Konstantin from Canada Looking For Practice Circle in the Orlando Area.
Post by: Stuntflyn on February 03, 2018, 10:20:09 AM
I received a message from Orestes Hernandez that Konstantin from Canada is looking for a practice circle somewhere in the Orlando area.He is going to be in the Orlando area for two weeks from February 6th to February 15th. If you or someone you know might have an idea, please pass it along to me or Orestes.

He is welcome to fly with us at our circle, but we are at least 2 hours from Orlando. Miami is a bit further even on the Florida Turnpike.

Would be a good opportunity to fly with a really good flyer, so l hope someone knows a place - I do not.

Thanks,

Jim Smith

We have a small group that flies every Wednesday in Winter Garden, just west of Orlando.
The every Wednesday thing is flexible, could be adjusted to as much as every day but it would be just me and him.
It’s an old grass baseball field, pretty good on one side, a little rougher on the far side. All grass, no dirt base running area.

Was advised of this by IRKS President, asked to followup.
Our grass field is available, about 35 minutes East of Orlando Int'l airport in Cocoa,FL area.
Mowed weekly, will be mowed day before use if area is close enough for him.
Retired CL member flyers wculd be available for site access and support.
Good BBQ and other eateries close by.

Please advise.

Excellent paved circle on the West side of the airport, not sure if it is still available. When I flew there, it was Saturday mornings only.
Jim Mitchel would be the one to ask, mit8@live.com

Any chance you could locate it on this map view or at least let me know if I'm in the right general area
?  Had been told that it was right by the school.
I've gone into that area several times on Saturdays over the last year or so and could not find it nor find anyone that even knows where it might be.

There appears to be 2 defunct parking lots between the Navy Exchange and Alliance Airfreight. (North of Navy Exchange and South of Airfreight. Now it may not be a paved circle but someone is making a lot of circular marks on the surface of the lot. Zoom into the northern one of the two, lots of circles. The just south east of the school off of deatwyler drive there seems to be a bunch of defunct lots suitable for flying

It’s the square parking lot directly south of Pinecrest Preparatory Charter School.
Konstantin flew with us in Winter Garden Wednesday morning. We are going to do it again Friday morning. He’s also been flying some on his own.

This is the square. No trees, no turbulence at all, great place for practice.

We use to hold contest at the peddlers market. It was a large parking lot with closed stores.
I googled it and it came up?
