Kiwi visit
« on: July 02, 2018, 08:36:47 AM »
In early May, Chris Cox and I received an email from Kevin Barnes from New Zealand. Kevin is a member of the New Zealand FAI team  and wanted to know if we would like to get together for some flying here in Vancouver.  Kevin and his lovely wife Karen were going to be in Vancouver in late June and early July for their son's wedding while on their way to Landres  France for the World Championships.  We got together on Saturday and totally enjoyed both the company and the flying.  While Chris leaves tomorrow for Muncie, Kevin and I  plan a few more sessions before he leaves for France.
Kevin flies an electric powered Yatchenko Shark Elipse that seemed to handle the bumpy wind conditions we had.  Good practice for the probable conditions he will encounter.  Both Chris and Kevin have flown at Landres. Chris in 2000 and Kevin at the last WC held țhere.
