Would anyone be interested in a kit of Randy Powell's Ringmaster Deluxe?
-
I'm interested..
-
Look's interesting. I'd consider one.
-
Walter,
Absolutely! I'd love to have one (or two).
Paul
-
Certainly!
-
But, of course! H^^
-
It's a fun plane. Easy to keep light with nice wind penetration.
-
Hi Walter
I think that one would interest me...........
Dalton H.
-
Well, if Dick can get on a flog his design ....
A few more interested and perhaps Walt will consider this one. ;D
-
Walter, I would be interested in purchasing a kit of that plane. I was the launcher on its fatal flight.
-
I would point out that the fatal flight was in no way due to the launcher. ;D
-
Randy - What is the covering on the wings? What was your final wght? Thanks, Ed
-
Ed,
The original was covered with transparent Red Baron iron on. Pretty basic stuff.
The failure happen due to a poor decision on my part. I put in a substandard bellcrank. It was one of those "oh, that will be OK" decisions we sometimes make at 11:30 on Saturday night after too many hours in the shop. Too bad, too. The original was one of the best flying planes I've ever owned. I hope the new version is as good. It's just about done.

Cool plane...I'm in for the plane and the cf gear.
-
Hi Guys...
I really could use a few more people to be interested and to commit to make this happen.
-
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH
Rngmaster Delux
Must have one.

Any possibilities of a Short Kit? Might be a possibility of doing both a full and short version? (just might add more sales)
Bill

Just so you guys know I really am working on a new one...
Original plane was a bit heavy since it was built largely out of the scrap box with whatever I happened to have around including the covering. Ready to fly weight was about 56oz. The new one has a projected all up weight, ready to fly of about 48-50oz. Should be a good plane.
-
Interested..... what ballpark price range?
-
Walter, I'm interested. y1 Ron.
-
Walter, I have sent a PM. H^^
-
Walter count me in as wanting a full kit, not many hobby shops in north central Maine.
-
I would definitely be interested in a "Short Kit" if one were available.

Hi Vince, we don't have a price yet
-
How many of you guys would want the carbon gear I did on the original (or similar). It would probably add to the final price of the kit so that would be a consideration.
-
I would spring for the gear.
-
Randy,
If those gears are all hand fabricated then you right about cost. And since i know of no automated method of making them it is worth the money.
If Walt does it a,t this stage of developement I'm in for the gear also.
Dennis
-
Dennis,
I'd probably be the one making the gears. If I can get a mold I'm happy with. I may recruit Howard Rush to help me. ;D
-
It just wouldn't be right w/o the carbon gear. I'm game.

Will the gear be less than a C note in price? LL~ LL~ LL~

I would like one if you make it.
-

I have a OS 40 VF with a pipe waiting for a home..

Well it would appear there are enough interested,
now to figure out the cost and whether it will be a full or short kit.
either way I'll have to wait to see what the geat will cost from Randy.

Well Walter...count me for one more...I really like the airplane.

Hi Walter,
I would suggest that you allow those that would want the CF gear to deal directly with Randy. Include an aluminum gear in the kit. That would save you, and Randy, both the time and money of the CF gear.
Just a thought...........
Bill

First flights today demonstrated that the gear works pretty well. But truth is, an aluminium gear would probably work fine. But the CF gear looks cool.

Randy,
since you have the plane in front of you, what aluminum gear would best fit the R.M.D.
-
I have a set of gear from Eric Rule of RSM Dist. that looks good on my Primary Force. H^^
-
I'm in.............
-
Hi
You could add me also please
Steve

>>since you have the plane in front of you, what aluminum gear would best fit the R.M.D. <<
Walter,
I suspect that most any aluminium gear would work OK. Just have to make sure that the stance is wide enough (I'll have to get out an measure to give a number - I'll do that tomorrow).
I was looking at doing the carbon gear, but I suspect, as I've been checking things out that the cost would probably be prohibitive. I do mostly prototyping molds for personal use. They work fine for two or even three pulls. But to do 20+ sets, I'd need a production mold. They can be a bit steep to make. So, I'm checking on that now to see if it's reasonable to do.

The carbon gear I have cost me $40.00 each. I can make a lot of aluminum gear for that. H^^
Walter, have you seta price for deposit yet? jeh
