MM: As far as I know, modern innards will fit perfectly.
The thing to watch is the head - the early version had a relatively thin head that would occasionally warp and lose the fiber gasket.
The later versions had a somewhat thicker head.
Also, the factory modified some Ranger heads to four-bolt configuration and aluminum gaskets.
The guy who really knows Fox engines is Bill Morebacher (spelling?).
