Anyone know of a source for kit boxes, such as those used by Brodak, RSM, etc.? Curious minds want to know ...

While I don't have sources I can assume that if you only want a few they will be relatively pricey. The cost only gets reasonable with a certain quantity purchase

Figure the size and contact Brodak or RSM....I wager they'll sell some.

Look at www.uline.com. I get boxes from them.

You can try Tharco, to. I admit, it's been 30 years since I've done serious business with them -- but they were a joy to work with then.

minnesotsamoddeler purposes vacuum cleaner boxes by cutting and refolding them. The boxes are almost as nice as the models.

'strue, if you want to take the time to do it you can use just about any old long box (refrigerator boxes are usually easy to beg off of appliance stores, if you have a big enough vehicle). Use a long straight edge and a utility knife to cut 'em out, "score" where you want to fold using something blunt (about 1/8" radius is good) -- you want to crush the cardboard, not cut it, fold over the edge of a long table.
I used to work in the shipping room of my dad's manufacturing business; I couldn't count how many boxes I made or modified.

When I was making model kits, I did use U-Line for quite some time. The major problem is quantity as mentioned above. U-Line, at that time had a 500 Qty. minimum. After talking to the company rep for awhile, he said he would do 100 boxes but also as stated above, the price was increased. With that done I ordered the 36" boxes at 75 each and the 32" boxes at 25 ea. I had also contacted Tharco which has a plant here in the Reno Nevada area but they only had brown boxes and much heavier than I was looking for. They too have a minimum Qty order. Larry H^^

I've had real good luck using Uline. They have lowered their minimum quantity. Go to their website and check it out.

Thanks for that Larry. Wouldn't you know they would lower their Qty reg's after I don't need them! LOL I guess the economy has hit them too. Larry
