King Cobra? Sterling? 19 powered

I have a 19 size plane.  I think it's a King Cobra.  Did Sterling make a 19 sized King Cobra?  I see a larger one made by Midwest.  It's so ugly I don't want to post a picture. It's my only model from my teenagerhood.  Perhaps 45 years old or so.

I don't remember Sterling ever doing a P-39/63 profile, only Midwest, as part of their Warbird series of profiles. Some of them in both a .35 and .19 engine sizes.  I was at Currell Patties last Tues and he had a Profile Sterling .15/.19 sized P-40 Warhawk and a Me-109 kits in the box from way back in the day.  Didn't even know Sterling did these.

             I had the Sterling ME-109 (not the P-40 Warhawk) back in 1956-57.  I flew it with a K&B Torpedo .15 greenhead, Nitro X fuel and a Top Flite 8-6 wood prop.  It was not especially maneuverable although it would fly inverted and you could usually do an inside loop without hitting the ground on the pullout..........usually.

I believe that's it.  I just didn't remember that it was a Midwest kit.

I can't believe I'm having trouble with my memory.  I'm only 63.     P-63 duh!!!  or maybe a 39

I see a set of plans on AeroFred.com for a P-63 King Cobra 15 Midwest.  It looks exactly like what I built.   I flew it with a variety of McCoy 19's.  The one that's bolted on now hasn't been run by me yet.  It's an E-bay special.  It was good for slow flying and I learned lazy 8's on it.  Still alright for sport flying.

That's it!  I'm really embarrassed because I still have the box. I keep my various and sundry pieces of balsa in the box.  I still have it.  Anyway, thanks guys. The plane is now positively identified.  If anyone has memories of flying the plane, it would be interesting to hear about, if anyone is still flying one.  How it flies, or what engine they are using on it.
