Kenhi Conundrum

OK, guys,  some of you OTS experts help me out here.

As a youngun my buddy had a Midwest Cougar.  Although looking a lot like the Kenhi Cougar, the wing was thicker.  So, looking back at the Kenhi kit, I would expect the model to need to fly in the faster range with a period engine.  I am just guessing 4.8 range.  ???

BUT!  With a modern engine, AT .36 or Magnum squarehead .36 XLS, maybe it could be slowed down to a 5.2-5.3?  Looking at 60' to 62' eye to eye lines.

What say ye?

I built and flew a Kenhi Cougar in late 1959-through 1961 with a K&B Greenhead 35 and Top Flite 10-6 on 62 ft center to center lines at 5.0 to 5.2 sec laps.  It flew very well and had no issues due to a thin wing.  Key is not to have a sharp Leading edge.
Build light use "Horse Power"...no issues.
I intend to build another one soon but have too many projects burning right now.

PS:  Leroy Black built one of these for VSC a few years back...can't remember what he powered it with...maybe a Brodak 40.
       It seemed to fly OK.

Back in those days we flew stunt fast and sharp.If I had to guess I'd say 80 plus mph. we arrempted to slow it down with the 1956 version. I had the only one at that time. the airfoil was  thicker of the kit version and blunt  leading edge, It also had a trike gear with a brake. The leadouts both came out the same hole on C/L. The inboard wing about an inch or more off center. It had a bubble canopy and inverted mount. He had plans for it. don't know where they went. maybe tony naccaratto has them.It didn't fly that well   maybe better if wing offset wasn't so severe and redo the leadouts. Great lookin airplane! I heard mike has a pic of it.
