This is making sense now!! I was trying to place a Ken Smith aftermarket crank?? Was almost going to ask for more details if you knew any. The Randy Smith crank is difficult to find, and I don't think he made very many. I'm sure you know that the biggest attribute of it is that it's straight and strong!! I have one, but hanging on to it. I often wonder how many might have been installed in engines already, and forgotten about?
Good luck with the search,

Too many of these great cranks sitting in a shoe box somewhere waiting for someday.

Is there a way to identify a Randy Smith Fox .35 crank from OEM? Got 2 Fox 35's one has a gray colored crank the other is a black metal. Haven't opened them to see if the crank counterweight is different, probably should.

They look entirely different. The Smith crank is a nice , deep black color, and has a much narrower counter balance that actually resembles an OS crank, to me.
Type at you later,

You can tell the difference without taking the engine apart. Take off the prop drive washer and look at the drive lugs on the crank. If it looks broched between the lugs it's Fox factory, if they look milled between the lugs it's a Nelson crank.
If you do take off the back plate you'll see the Fox factory crank has a full circle crank web and the Nelson crank has cut outs in the crankweb for an "A" shape.
MM :)
