Title: K&B .45 Green head on Da Bay
Post by: Curtis Shipp on November 10, 2011, 12:22:06 PM
I have a bid in on this motor. If anyone is bidding and wants it bad I will stop bidding. Let me know with PM. I do not need it any way. I am trying to corner the market and get rich with Fox .59's and other CL engines.  LL~

Curtis,
I thought you were going lectric? ::)

Glad you are getting a good engine. I had a .35 GH on a Flite Streak and it would go forever on about 2.5 oz of fuel. Only problem I had was setting the needle. No muffler and the stack was blowing right into my hand.  f~

I have a Cavalier coming that will run on 100% LiPo Electrons. I just saw the K&B .45 and thought I would use it on a Classic or Old time plane. I have 3 Fox .59's. One for a RSM Big Job and looking for another plane for one. I will also be making parts for the .59 to repair a long shaft for Charlie Reeves and one that I bought that turned out to be worn out. So if anybody needs 59 parts you better let me know. This will be a 1 time only deal.

Rods, pistons and pins, Re-bush cases. That is all I know of. Pistons will be .003 oversized so a rehone can be done to the cylinder. I may look at new cylinders as they are simple looking.

Curtis,
Missed you at Eldorado.  Lots of wives there so everyone had company to chat with.

I had to be in Memphis, Tn that weekend. Steel mills are a calling and they have money. Sorry we could not be there. I will be in Memphis again this weekend at the steel mill and going to the casino to see if I can make more money. I bet I would be better off not betting, but all work and little play makes me cranky. HB~>

From what I read the 59 was Duke's first real production engine. I saw and heard Charlie Reeves Big Job on a 59 long shaft and decided to get some and run them. I think there are a lot of them out there that need TLC to keep them going. The long shafts break the crank case but with an extension you can make a short shaft work like a long shaft. I do not know if they run the same. The 59 reminds me of a diesel, gobs of torque with a great loud exhaust. So I will spend some time messing with them and making parts for them while I try to get another project going.

Curtis,

Thank you for your prompt and courteous reply. Informative also.

OK! seeing I have absolutely no interest in Fox 59's, I'll assist with your quest.

If I hear or see any, you will be told.

My guess, however, you'll be way ahead of me. Never know.

Any other engine you have interest in?
