They have a crappy little "recruiting" trailer that always sits waaay down on the south end of the main road/walkway that's parallel to the flight line. Same spot every year, way down in the boonies. It's very close to the Tall Pines restaurant that does daily breakfasts. When I walked past there late morning on Thursday it was closed up tight as a drum and not a representative around. Another typical AMA "effort".

What Colleen and I saw was at Pioneer airport up by Museum there were lots of volunteers there for both controline and RC flying and lots of kids and some adults in Line to fly both. Sean Mcentee was helping and I bet will know more than I. It was a carnival atmosphere and lots of people watching and participating.

During Air Venture at Oshkosh they have Kids Venture at the Whitman Hanger where young kids are exposed to different themes of aviation.  The EAA hosts Air Academy at Oshkosh for kids from 12 to 18 who attend week long camps and learn all aspects of aviation operations from building to flying. Often they fly models they have built.

Good points Joe and Steve but all the KidVenture stuff is EAA, nothing to do with AMA like Doc mentioned. If anyone with the AMA was there they were apparently too busy to bother manning their trailer.

I did swing by KidVenture for a short time on Saturday, said "hi" to Sean McEntee and Chris Sterner who were flying some Stunt demos at the time. I don't know Chris' history with the event but I know Sean has volunteered there many, many times, he's been an Ironman out there.  y1

The AMA helped out with some financial support to purchase new batteries for glow starters and stater batteries this year.

Due to weather issues, just under 2000 flights were made.

Just came from Youtube after watch Airshow Tuesday at Oshkosh.  Over 3 1/2 hours of airplanes of all sorts flying.  Didn't realize there were so many of some of the types planes, like the T-6 Trainers and Gooney birds.  Probably spend the rest of the week looking at them to see if any model planes are shown.
