Just how much Stuff!
« on: February 06, 2018, 11:30:45 PM »
For those who remember George Carlin had a terrific routine about Stuff. And how you end up moving so you can find a bigger place for all your stuff. And of course it has to be your Stuff. Then if yo become a participant of the matrimonial agreement, all of a sudden you are faced with finding a place to put all of the female units Stuff. That can be a whole sh*t load of Stuff. Anyway I have been out of active CL flying for a while and have been recently reacquainted with the mindbogglingly huge number of stuff required to get back into CL and an order of magnitude more for CLPA. So I thought I would share my estimation of the inventory required to christen a pair of models I will soon start building.

The two models in question are a SIG Magnum and a the Profile Forerunner. These two were chosen because being of the Foam Wing persuasion I figured I would be able to minimize the Suff count. So let us make a inventory list to determine just how high this pile of stuff will be dealing with.

And Heck this is only the bare minimum number of stuff. I cringe at the man hours it will take to assemble it all even before the first piece id glued. This obviously omits even more stuff like One (1) Motor vehicle for transporting all the stuff, One (1) Bottle of Sun Screen, SIX (6) Cans of Beer, And various bags of snacks. One (1) Hat is optional. And of course unless you are of the Neanderthal persuasion Underwear, shirt, pants, socks and shoes.

Please excuse the typos as I am writing this while lying in bat at Gardens Medical Center, pretty wrecked on Ambian and other good stuff that deal with a not so insignificant heart issue.

At first I was wondering why you need two bellcranks per plane. But at the end of your post it became clear.
Medication.
I have seen the light, and it’s powered by a lipo.

Just think, those of us that finish with other than Monokote have just that much more in air compressors, hoses, filters, spray guns,Etc. not to mention the paints, primers, thinners, retarders, and the silk or silkspan itself! We seem to collect a lot of STUFF for our hobby......Gene

Peter,

When I blew out all my R/C stuff, I made a list, took a few photos of everything in the 'lot', then placed the 'lot' on ebay.

The 'lots,' I had a few, all sold for twice what I expected. Some things I should have kept.

You already have the list.

The reason for two bellcranks is that I merge the two together in a sandwich this results with a space between the arms through which I can put screws to attach the leadouts to somewhat like I did for the Pathfinder Bellcrank......... Yes that pathfinder that currently hangs from the wall in my home office. Modifying two pre-made bellcranks is easier than fabricating all the stuff in the photos by hand.

BTW I'm scheduled back down to the Cath Lab for another round of them sending a snake down around the ole arteries. So be prepared for more goofy interaction whilst I ponder my Mortality. But since I want to be able to actually be able to walk out to the lines and fly these things. I figured that it may be wise I don't end up on the ground clutching my chest instead. Alas all the trials and tribulations we go through to be able to fly our little toy airplanes  ~>

Gee, what a great idea.

Wish I had thought of that.

Well take care of that heart and listen to the doctors plus your therapist.  Even I watch some guys now fly while holding the unused hand on their chest. H^^

We I am disappointed in this inventory of all the individual "each" of every little bit of kit

You simply must count each and every T pin...... grin

I never have found a good way to share a MS Excel spread sheet work book on line

My inventory....prompted by a need to help my son value all this STUFF when I die...is nearing 30 pages of STUFF to be dumpster or liquidated once he grabs all the Stuff to add to His Stuff
