Just hanging around for the snow to melt!
« on: February 25, 2011, 11:34:18 AM »
Well, I woke up this AM to a new 6 inches of snow, and just when the field had started to show a bit of grass through!  Went out and snow-blowed the drive, walks, etc., when I came back in I decided Optimus Prime, AKA Kitty Baby, had had waaaaaay too much winter!  he's spent so much time sleeping he can't even get all the way on the chair before he falls asleep!

Gee Will; I kind of feel like that myself. LOL. I have been in the basement lubing engines, and heating them with a heat gun to loosen them up. Keeps me busy and out of my chair. That is the bad thing about lap tops, I can sit in my Lazy Boy and play on the puter.

I figure by the end of February I will be use to the cold. Then it will start warming up, and by september I will be use to the heat.  y1

Hey Jim,
I absolutely REFUSE to get used to the cold!  I'm a dedicated cold weather pansy!  The heat, now, that's a different story.  Bring on the 80's!

I hear ya Will; But when it gets over a 100 here in the middle of Kansas, I'm a pansy too. In fact, my temp spread keeps getting smaller. LOL. I can live with somewhere between 50 and 80 pretty well. How did we ever get along without airconditioning. I guess we sweat a lot. Of course, I was just a kid then. Didn't know anything. Heck, I didn't even suspect anything. D>K

Yea, I just go my power bill. Yikes! I may need to take out a second mortgage to pay it.

Is it spring yet?

That looks something like my demented poodle when she takes over the chair in the shop.  I guess I am getting used to the low temps as I was sweating Friday afternoon.  Temp was 27F.  So far the wind chill temps have not gone below -15F yet.   But, what gets me today is that the temp shows 28F and the snow/ice is melting.   Also today has to get better,  wife lost the last key to the van and now wishes she had listened to me about getting one made.  She waiting for me at the dealers after the two truck delivered the van to them.  New key will unlock doors and release the parking gear, but will not start car.  They have to program it.  Also lost my billfold at WalMart where she's works and nobody has found it.  No cash and a maxed out credit card and my AMA licenses.  Can't complainas I am still able to be verticle. Wow Doc,
What a run of nasties!!!  Hang in there, it's gotta get better!  I was out blowing snow at 22 degrees and as soon as the driveway pavement showed through the light dusting on the surface started melting.  Hmm, wonder what Mister Trent in science class would say about that?

Randy, maybe if you have more power outages it will help lower the bill - ya ain't usin', ya ain't payin'!  'Course, it does get downright uncomfortable that way.  We've been fortunate here so far, all the power failures have missed us but the surrounding areas have been hit hard at times.  I have 25 gallons of fuel for the generator and I'll be very happy to burn it through the mower this summer if it stays this way!!!!!! #^ #^

Well here it is Monday evenig and the snow is almost gone.  Hevy rain storms last night was not fun.  But the good LORD must be playing tricks with me or I am getting too old and senile.  You know I said I lost  my bill fold last Saturday.  Went ahead and drove to crossing duty this AM thought I had had it.  Light turns yellow just before I get to it.  Patrol car pulls out after I am about a half a block away.  I hear sirens and am thinking I have a ticket coming.  Thank GOD, it was a fire truck and the patrol was following it.  But, the best part is this afternoon I get to the school for crossing duty.  Open back door and retreive stop sign.  Something didn't look right.  Opened door again and there was my bill fold on the floor board in front of the back seat.  How it got there I do not know.  But, I have to thank GOD again for watching over me. Glad you found your billfold Doc; Maybe its time for a Harley chain drive billfold. They are hard to loose, unless of course, you loose your belt.  n1
