I just received a rather large order of balsa from Bud Nosen. Prices were up 40%. The Current price list I have lists a piece of 1/16 x4 x36 contest balsa at $1.60. That is what I paid for it a few months ago. When my order came in that piece cost me $2.24. Keep in mind that is my cost as a dealer/distributor. Now on a typical order for me at $500.00, that order is now costing me $700.00 and I am a small dealer for them comparatively.
According to a recent discussion I had with Mike at RSM, these increases will reflect in kits that you order in the very near future if they have not already.
I am not selling any kits until I get a clear and updated price from Mike at RSM. I will make a post in my Vendors Corner section when I have the new pricing.
As a side note, if you like the vintage kits that I have been selling in the classified section, this makes them even more valuable and affordable. I have more that I will be posting there in the near future as well as more engines. The collection he had was huge.
