June 17, 2017 Sig Mfg. Control Line Fun Fly
A just for fun - Fly what you bring - show us what you got - fly in and picnic at Hazel Sig's airport south of Montezuma, Iowa.
Pilots meeting 9:00 AM. Fly until you drop then chew the fat with the other fliers. At least 3 mown grass circles plus hand launch circles.
We will have a couple of grills out for cooking whatever you bring. Any side dishes will be accepted. No events planed, no judges furnished. Show off your old time combat, stunt, scale, and sport fliers. If there is enough interest Sig could bring out the hobby shop trailer. AMA required.

Just bumping this back up to remind everyone about the fun Fly at SIG Field on June 17th. I plan on attending just to relax, fly some models and relive some great memories of past contests. Bob nelson is going to have the field mowed and all the before mentioned facilities available. Yeah, it's not a contest, but just think of it as a sort of reunion! I'm still working out details, but I would like to travel on Friday to get there in time to fly in the evening like we used to. Then spend the day there Saturday and head for home Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Still waiting on official okie dokies from work for the day off. Who else has considered making the scene?

We will be there with bells on!!! I am trying to figure out how to stuff a dozen or so planes into the van..... We should be there Fri afternoon....
This will be the highlight of the summer!

Just bumping this up to keep those aware of the event that may want to attend. I'm still waiting on PTO approval for Friday, and worse case scenario is that Mark Hughes and I will drive up Friday evening after I get off work. I still hope to have Friday off and plan on arriving early afternoon for some flying and hanging out. We'll fly all day on Saturday till dark! We'll head home Sunday morning, the time depending on how good the weather is. If the weather is good, we'll fly some more!
Bob Nelson has said that the circles will be mowed and ready Friday morning. Saturday they will have BBQ grills available for us to use to cook whatever we bring. it sounds like that there is a nice little crowd of "regular" SIG C/L contest attendees that are planning on being there. I know it's Father's Day weekend, but if you are looking fro something to do, come on out!
