Had a rain delay myself, sitting out a deluge at Banks Lake, Electric City, WA, on Thursday afternoon. Called my friend Gary Gingerich (Safford, AZ), who had planned to drive to Phoenix, get in the big silver silo and fly to Atlanta, rent a car, motel, etc., for the Joe Nall. He didn't know that the last few days were cancelled, because he was at home, having blown out his knee and barely able to walk 5' without crutches. He said he still has to fly someplace, didn't get his airfare refunded, but is happy, considering. He has a "smart phone" but isn't really online, which I don't understand at all.
Fishing was great! My OFB kicked my tail Tuesday afternoon after we got to Banks Lk., but I returned the favor on both Wednesday and Thursday, with more meaningful (i.e., bigger) fish, both Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass (around 3 and 4 lbs, respectively). Crappy weather continued today (Friday) with wind and rain. We'd planned to stop by Potholes Res. on the way home, but it was nasty, so we came on home, just a few hours early, tired, battered, but the bleeding had stopped. Yeah, a lot like going to a model airplane contest. Feel like I've been beat up, but much happier for having gone. If you're ever through Electric City, stop at the "Fusion Cafe" and get the Lamb/Beef Gyro...YUM!
