Joe Is in the Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, he has had a heart attack. Nan said the doctors are looking for a "blockage" and when they find it, they are going to put in a stint. He was on his way to a doctor's appointment yesterday in Little Rock, when he started to feel bad. When he got there they took him to the emergency room.

I have spent a lot of time on the 5th floor of Baptist Health Center, far more than any person should. This is the right place to be, sounds like they have a real solution, so get it fixed and get out fast!

No better place to have a heart attack than at the doctor. 8 years ago I had sudden death cardiac arrest at the flying field. We were teaching the boy scouts about all kinds of model aviation. I was running around in circles with them flying control line. After the last one was down and headed for the pits, my heart stopped. One of the kids dads who was there is a doctor, and started CPR on me right away and kept it up for 15 minutes  till the EMT's got there and started my heart wth the defibrulator. Three days later I was getting a valve job.

It is amazing what they can do. i do not even have to be on any medication as they put in a doner valve.

So get well quick Joe. They have new procedures now for installing stents that are almost fool proof. Keep us updated Norm. Joe and Nan are good people.

I just saw a picture of Joe in a text message.  He is all propped up in bed with Mc and Cheese and more on a tray in front of him and he has a big smile on his face.  He had four stints installed.

Get well quick Joe.

Greeting All,  Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes.  I got home Wednesday afternoon but computer on the fritz.  Just got it going again.  Had 4 stents installed and Dr. said to eat healthy and rest for now.  Good thing is they said could not see and damage to the heart muscle.  Will go back for check up Feb. 11.  All is good, just a little tired.
   Just a word about Heart attacks.  I was not experiencing any of the classic symptoms.  No pain in chest, no numbness in the extremities, no radiating pain to the back or jaw.  Only a shortness of breath and a strange some what disconnected feeling.  EKG (4 of them) were perfect.  Only real indicator was the enzymes in the blood.  Also elevated B/P (234/111).  So just get checked out if your not feeling well.
Thanks again everyone for all the support.

Yes joe, rest and follow doctors orders.   Your blood pressure sounds like what I had a couple of years ago.   When I asked the young lady is that high?  She said I should be dead.   L looked at her and said if I had been dead there would be no pressure, right.  She stopped and looked and me and started laughing.  It has been hard but have lost quite a bit of weight and I don't exercise like I should.  I guess I'm lazy.  Can't get the family to stick to the health diet so I get to Stake & shake about twice a month   Also have cut out all sugar.   Salt was cut out many years ago except on scrambled eggs.   Diet drinks and down to maybe three cups of coffee.

It is scary when a person doesn't feel right or can't even do things for a few minutes.  I thank the techs at the Arlington Emergency room for taking care of me,  all the nurses, interns, doctors and specialists.   The guy scanning my heart couldn't believe I went to sleep while he was scanning.   Amazing how something like that can take it out of a person. Oh, had to suffer the ride home with wife and daughter driving home.   It was two weeks before the doctor let me drive.  So take care of your self Joe and the rest of you on this great forum. D>K

  Hi Joe;
    Nothing like being in the right place at the right time, and that can work a lot of ways! Glad they got you fixed up. Hope to see you down at Paducah and maybe a few other places this coming year.
  Take Care,
  Dan "Ready's Little Brother" McEntee
