Joe's "Flying Clown" Project is now done!

After a heart failure in September, dealing with Cancer since 2017 (now in submission) and the huge concussion I am finally finished with the Clown project mentioned a couple of times in the "What did you do.... threads, here they are!
The original FC, made from left over  J & J  production parts has a McCoy LB .19 on board. weighs 21 Oz.

My version of what I think the Super Clown should have looked like (no flaps and no moved cockpit) Holds an OS .25 and weighs 32 Oz.

My version of a "Super Duper" Clown has a great LA .46 in he front of some rather porky material that weighs out at 46 Oz.

There they are! Look, Puke, Complain, or think I really am living in LA-LA land,  after beating the odds on the Heart thing, the Cancer and a wasted body from too many "blind Sides" for way too many years, I don't  care!  Having fun is my only goal (with minor variances) for the time I have left.

But, I think you're missing the mark.  .19, .25, and .46 are a good start.  But you need to go the other way and build Clowns for .09, .049, and .020 engines.  You'll just have to stick around with us until you get those finished, too.

Dave,  Here is the rundown on sizes.

19 Clown…..Length 26" Cord 7.5....Total squares..195

25 Clown…..  "       36"     "  8.5....   "      "....306

46 Clown....  "       48"...  "  10.25...."     " 492

More info, The body size and shape led to carefully drawn templates. The wing, including rib length and airfoil shape and depth was an educated guess that worked for me.  All 3 tanks were painted red! All dope was Brodak Buterate, and the LG on the "Super" was made from a flat blank, also from, Brodak. Wing covering as from a roll of "Examination" paper. A bit different from our old style Silk Span, but who really gives a $%^($!! at this point in one's life?

     Mark, the undersides of the three wings were painted  white, with only 2-3" Horizonal stripes in Red at the front and blue at the rear. I"m  already ahead of your thinking. I have built a prototype for my .000 Cox TD

Nice! That's a very effective and colorful paint scheme. Wish I could come up with something like that for my models. I can build but lack creativity.

I too suffer from the same problem. However, to help me I simply draw a wing shape on some scrap pieces of paper and then try different patterns by using crayons or makers. You might find that trying this can led to some simple but attractive patterns.  I am not an artist at all!  The best "beauty points" I ever received was 8.  Try this out, I think you will enjoy creating a color scheme.
