So, who's going to this contest April 15-17? The weather is usually pretty good, though it's been interesting on occasion.

Cannot make it (you are a bit too far from Omaha for the drive) but wish you well. BTW anyone else notice that we are coming up on an anniversary for the Walker CL patents? Should we be doing something nationally to honor that? I know he lost the patent battle but honestly few of us would be flying if he hadnt kicked things off.

I PLAN on being there, of course weather and finances as always have the last word. HOPEFULLY I will have the Ejet ready for competition, though the old stand by Gee Bee is there for profile, and of course the Avenger is still airworthy, I think Pat is coming too

The Avenger is only just airworthy? What did you do to it? When I said that that after you crashed it once or twice you'd worry less about leveling off at 5 feet I was pulling your leg!

I want to see that BF-109.

I also plan on being there, and I'm a lot closer to there than Mark. I don't know if I'm going to get in any practice days between now and then, though. We're getting that magic Willamette Valley "all-wind, all the time" weather right now, apparently without letup, and I gotta work.

Yea, we are in the weather nice during the week and either blowing hard or raining or both on the weekends. Joy. Not sure if my new plane will be ready by then. Could be done, but not ready.

I think if the weather's really windy I'll swap the 20FP back onto the backup plane and fly that, and leave the nice plane safe at home.

It is my intention to attend. I doubt the the new plane will be ready, as it is just getting clear this coming weekend. Too much time left to sand, polish, assemble, test fly and be ready for "prime time".

I have an older dog that flies pretty good though. It should be in attendance.

Mieko got into town Wednesday afternoon without a hitch. Now we need to get her body clock reset. It was 17 hour flight and 14 hour time difference. I don't know how the pilots do it.

Good to hear Mieko's home ok, Mike. I don't know any secret jet lag fix except for a "Friends" Marathon on TV.

I'm going to be saving my coin for Regionals, hope to make the Richmond BC event and maybe even "Perry Fire". I'll have to cut back a few contests, with retirement sometime between now and June. No, my new plane isn't ready for prime time yet...

I am going there to run Carrier do some interviews, take pictures for CLW and have some fun! I won't however be entering any phase of PA, so somebody else will just have to take last place this time. The weather here in E. WA has been totally awful his year with only 2 days back to back with Sunshine since January. I plan on bringing spare Carrier planes should anyone care to give Carrier flying a try.

There is a RV campsite withing a mile or so of the Delta park along the Columbia River East of the park. It is the "Columbia River RV Park". Phone # 1-503-285-1515. Ginny and I had considered taking our camping conversion van for the weekend , but with gas expected to be near $4 we find it cheaper to drive the Cruiser and stay in a motel near the Airport for the weekend.

There is no camping in the park according to some powers on high. Poor Dave Miller got run out of the park by the Portland police at 2:00 AM in his under shorts a few years back. There are several large box store parking lots within throwing distance to the park with much pavement. Mike Haverly has spent the night in his camper at the park several times without problems. Some Low Life just pulled ALL of 2,000 feet plus of cooper No# 6 wire to the baseball field lighting (the one next to the flying circle) in the last two weeks so the local enforcement and parks department might be on high alert.

Are there any expert/advanced types who are planning on going and would be interested in flying my plane for me, and giving me set up tips? I've never flown a plane that's known to be set up correctly, and no one but me has flown my plane -- that doesn't seem like a good combination.

If anyone's going to be at D-park tomorrow, or on the 9th or 10th, that'd work, too.

yea, my new ride had a setback and may not be done for the Regionals, much less Portland. But I'll have something.

I just hope we have some weather next weekend so I can at least get a flight or two on the planes I'm taking.

I'm planning to be there. You guys need a good bottom feeder intermediate for comic relief. We plan to stay in the RV park just up the street. I plan on Old Time, Sportsman Profile and Intermediate PA. Would it be safe to expect some wind, or is it normally fairly calm? I know it always blows up or down the river, but? Patti is hoping Mieko will be there to keep her company while I play.
