Jig Blocks "Posilock" still around?
« on: March 04, 2006, 04:11:02 PM »
Does anyone know if the Alloy Jigblocks made by the firm Posilock are still
around? they used to advertise in Stunt News.
These Jigblocks were adjustable alloy blocks and well made going by their
photo's, used a suspended wing technique so you didn't require a flat building board. :)

I believe your talking about something like this

Posilock was a copy of the Aero95th Squadron jigs

anyhow neither company are around any more.

though an attempt was made to make the jig shown (which was also a replica of them both but with an additional V block.  These are also not available, not cost effective to produce. :'(

Thank you and God Bless

Yes, that's what I asked about, thanks Walt.

It would have been $69.00 well spent if I had of ordered them
a few years back :-[

Hi Ron,

Greetings from Yank land.  Good to see we got enough umph to reach "down under"  :-*  I am thinking that there was a thread on this subject at the other umm errrr site?  [don't want the bosses smiter to gimme a smote or two for uttering it's name  ;D]  Of course I'm being silly but perhaps an email to Len Neumann at stuka stunt works forum could turn this topic up.  As I recall, it dealt with readily available aluminum stock that you could cut to size.  I am hoping this will generate some additional input as I am sure there are a lot of guys reading this reply that could really help you out a lot.

I just made my own. Not unlike the one shown, except I made mine out of some heavier stock. Took forever to get all the surfaces milled square, but he, it's bulletproof.

Hi Marv, ok I'll check that out on the "other" side :-X
And greetings to you from Oz land too, are you a Yankee Doodle or expat Aussie  ???
There'd be a lot of interest here in AUS, for this New stunt site which is great ;D

I agree with Randy who posted that he made his own Jig blocks, they'd
be a pain to do thats for sure.

Gimme a shout mate, me lips 're a bit parched  ;D

I put up a wanted post on Stuka and maybe some of those
New England Yanks will give us a nod.  Suggest you give it a look
in a day or two to see what turns up.  Also, got a local source for
aluminum flat and angle stock?  Let me/the forum know, maybe we
can give you a place or two to look.
What? me a doodle? naw, did a couple of R&R's on your veranda after getting lost in elephant grass over there in the hot and nasty peninsula.

Only been to Australia once. A milk run while in college from Perth, to Sidney to Brisbane and back. Did get to spend some time around Toowomba. That's a interesting place.

The jig isn't that hard to made. Just tedious. If doing it again, I think I'd use steel angle stock rather than the aluminum I used. I have to check them for squareness every so often and have had to re-mill a couple of them that got off center. Some 1/4" steel stock would have been much easier to keep square and to mill for that matter.
