Sad announcement. As some of you already know my flying friend and boss Passed away last week. I wanted to wait for the family to settle down before announcements however I have heard some have jumped the gun on a place where everyone posts other people's business facebook.
Please say a prayer for him and his family.

This is tragic news. Jerry was a really good guy. So sorry for your loss Sparky, and prayers for his family.

RIP Jerry, you were a blast to fly with!

Wow! I’m shocked, to say the least.
I’ve run in to Jerry at several contests over the last few years. I found him to be very personable and a genuinely nice guy. While I didn’t know him well, it appeared to me that he was in good health and would be with us for many years to come.
Rest In Peace, Jerry, but take your favorite handle with you.

Sorry to hear about your friend, Sparky, we are losing too many. God Bless you, Sparky!

Sorry for your loss.

Was one of the Haupt family involved in combat back in the early 60s? Was it Jerry?
My condolences to the family. It so tough to have to deal with the parting of a family member.

What a shocker. Jerry was a gentleman's gentleman! A nicer guy you'll never find, and a man of great Faith. I'll miss you, my friend.

I have been trying to find a picture of Jerry and Ben form the 2017 Nat's. I didn't know him very well at the time. We were practicing late Tuesday aftenoon/early evening and Ben totaled the SV 11 he was flying. A day or two later we were talking and Jerry expressed his condolensces for Ben's crash. He then asked if it would be okay with me if he gave Ben "an old back up plane". I thanked him for his generosity. The "old back up plane" was a very nice Viper ready to fly. He was always smiling, a true gentleman. We'll miss seeing him. Prayers for his family.

Jerry was a former Nats combat champ. I think 1971 or maybe 1972. I remembered his name from when I flew combat but didn't get to know him till I started flying stunt. He would meet me at the Dayton flying circle the day before their contest and help me get some practice flights in. He was a very good guy and a pleasure to be around. I liked him a lot and will miss seeing him at the Cleveland contests. Good bye my friend. I always enjoyed your company.
