Japan Cordoba Championships
Last week, the Japanese Cordoba Aerobatic Championships were held.
55 pilots participated. In addition to the Japanese, participated: Joe Parisi from Australia (with an electric model for a half-copy of the WW2 aircraft) and several participants from Taiwan (or the Republic of China, which is not China). Three winners: 1) Shoichiro Nogome; 2) Masaru Muramatsu; 3) Masaru Hiki. An interesting case for the model. A few videos: Shoichiro Nogome (Shark Ellipse, electro)

Writing in my old Model Builder column, I once wrote about jap tissue. Whoa! That turns out to be an insult. Japanese or Nipponese if you please (or if you don’t please, use the correct term anyway).

Learn from my mistake.  H^^

Boy that Hurricane design goes back decades.  I remember pics of them in the late 70s- 80s with Enya .45s.

They do indeed deserve the respect.

Masaru Hiki, one of the top three stunt fliers is the nicest gentleman I have met in a long time and one of the most exciting Stunt Fliers I have ever witnessed.

Also Kaz Minato is a great individual and has contributed a tremendous amount to our Sport.

I'm not sure if Kaz attended this contest as I didn't see him in the photos.

Both terrific Gentlemen, and great Stunt fliers

Indeed, very impressive flights from World Class Pilots.
Impressive the flight from Nogome with his electric Shark. Despite the high speed, the maneuvres are very exact in shape and size. Well, he placed 4th in Lndres last year!! Compared to the second video of the pilot with Enya-61 as engine, I measured 7.77 sec for Nogomes wingover compared to 8.61 sec for the Enya-powered plane. Assuming that both planes have comparable lap times in horizontal flight, nearly one second faster in the wingover sections makes me wonder why with electric it is so much more difficult to fly slower but still precise. Or why do electric planes need to fly faster to fly precise?
The time for the square eight that I measured was 13.32 sec for Nogome and 15.38 sec for the Enya-61 plane. OK, I cannot compare maneuvre size but still, the maneuvre speed of IC engines is somewhat slower.
So what can we do to make electric planes fly slower? A topic for the "Getting-All-Amped-Up" Discussion?

I spoke to Joe Parisi after he came back from the Competition where he came 5th.
He said it was hot, with variable wind and with the very high elevation the density altitude was great.
That is why they had to fly fast, so they could get the lift needed in the conditions.

Greetings David . welcome.

This is my second S Hurricane 30 , from the Aeromodellor sketch . ( I dont think entirely accurate - but flys well ) this one is 112 % .

Ive just refitted the wing & undercarrage . Was originally clockwise . Now Conventional .
( I accidently did the pushrod 38 or 50 mm overlength ! . Great . No Bounce or bobble with this one  - longer moment ) .
ST .46 & OS FP 40 fit .The wing is flat aft with blunt LE . V easy to fly . Tho not I think Mr Hara's airfoil - a dirct enlargement of the drg.
Plus one extra bay for the angled tips . The First was in N Z around 2002 , as per Drg. but with OS Max 35 S , Caudronised . Clockwise .

THIS is a REAL S Hurricane plan , if one searches for it .
