Panties in a twist far too tight
« on: February 17, 2023, 07:40:29 PM »
OK guys, think, think, when ever has the US Military ever released information about any incident? NEVER, it's not their job.  Not even good news goes out right away and only through spokespersons as it is designed that way so no one gets shot at dawn if one says something wrong, and careers have been ruined for such mutters.. They are not in the information business. At least not while I was in it. Also the news has to make sense to civilians and it will sound silly to members of the military. Such is life.
Being in the government does not make one informed. From my experience, most are misinformed or just stupid and I have had the "pleasure" of escorting a few around three different ships as SECNAV guests.

So back off on the emotional uninformed posts about the "big guy' his sweet SECTRANS, etc and the rest and keep an eye out for the actual news reports, that I'm finding are also a tad over the top.

You are making your selves sound like idiots and I know most of you know better.. H^^

Kind of on point: Back in the mid-80s when I was a newspaper reporter, I went to the local Secret Service office to try and interview a guy about a counterfeiting ring.  After I asked my first question, the guy asked me to read the words on the front door (small words and office buried kind of deep in a building).  I said "Secret Service."  He asks "and what is the first word in that ??"  I stood for a second, thanked him for his time and left with no story.

In answer to your willingness to acquiesce, military and state secrets are the topic of discussion.  To quote a rather famous fictional character of the late 60s, “Military Secrets are the most fleeting of all “.
