My dad Jack & my brother Tom (in the picture) just finished this Profile F4U-1 Corsair.
Aircraft specs: wing span 45"
length 32"
weight 32oz.
engine OS Max FP 40 reworked by Byron Barker
finish Brodak over silkspan & carbon fiber
Scheduled first fight this afternoon if the weather cooperates.

Everbody has to love the Corsair, I really like the bellcrank mount, bet you will not pull that one out in a pull test , easy to service controls too

Well the corsair made three missions over the field and returned home safe with out A scratch.I piloted it twice and my son TJ made the third flite . It will do wingovers -loops squares and inverted flite A little more triming and it will be ready for battle at the next contest. We have three more planes coming out of the shop in the next two weeks A scratch built hellcat A F14 TOMCAT A F-8 CRUSADER Dad keeps me hard at the grind stone and I love my time with him

That is very interesting. Did not the Franklin get underway and return to the Navy yard in Brooklyn NY after it was hit?

sure do every time I build A model I take photos will post them when I locate them this wing was built on the control line central wing jig it was built in three nights. The ribs are from Charlie Parots P47 good airfoil plans are from A blown up Guillows model

Could not tell it seems to be tail heavy turns real quick glides real good when the motor shut down like I said it still needs some trimming
