It takes a year to last a lifetime
« on: March 24, 2009, 07:39:47 AM »
When coming back to CLPA I decided to get serious about attending the NATS. Sense 04 I have attended the biggest model airplane contest in our country and maybe the world. I have met the best people in my life while there. Some I have talked to through this forum.

It takes me a full year to prepare for the NATS. Learning what I did wrong the year before and trying to design a plane to compensate for the down falls. My practice has started earlier this year in hopes to make the cut. My dad is coming again with me and this is special as he is in his final years and we didn't get to spend my time together when I was younger.

When reading amazing model stories I ran across a thread that said he could only dream of attending the NATS. I live in a shack and balsa dust is everywhere. If anyone is dreaming of attending the NATS and needs a place to crash and build for a week before the NATS Let me know. If you can stand the the model mess and crappy house keeping, smoking and a vast array of other incendiary bad habits I have. LOL Your welcome.

We have a great field near by. Budder park.

This Hobby has been my passion all my life. I have been sent to the principles office for building in High School, sanding and making peopel sneeze. (serves them right) It had cost many girl friends ,but I always come back.

Reminds me of Burt Munro in New Zealand... showing up at speed week with just his heart felt dreams and his motorcycle.. 201 mph with an old Indian and the rest is history.. don't forget to "water" your lemon tree..

I have a dream too...
