Title: It pays to shop around
Post by: Bill Sawyer on June 12, 2006, 06:44:39 PM
recently I wanted to order a quantity of wood for cutting kits. My first thought was to go with the same place I had been going to. At the last moment I thought about comparing prices.  I made a chart listing each size of wood I wanted to order. There was a place for the single unit price of each size for each of the sellers. The size of pieces went down the page and the dealers across the top. I then went to the web site of each one and checked the prices and entered the data. I called the companies to confirm the prices and circled the best deal for each size. Then I ordered from the cheapest price for each size.  Total savings for my order was over $ 300.  The wood quality did not seem to suffer because of the price.  Of course there is a small difference in shipping because of the multiple orders.
