Vector is now sitting on landing gear. It is starting to look like a plane. I hope I can get it ready before the Memphis Stunt Classic. ::)
I hope it does not get too hot to paint. n~

Too much time spent "flying" it around the shop while making engine noises? LL~ LL~ LL~
During idle moments at work, make a list of what you want to get done on it when you get home. Tick off the items as they are completed. D>K Steve

Yea Steve, I have done that.
I don't get a whole day to model. I get 15 minutes here and there and if I am lucky I maybe an hour or two tops.
I should get the rudder glued on tomorrow and maybe start some finishing sanding on the fuse and blocks before the silk span goes on.

Lookin real good.....remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, and even Da Vinci had masterpieces that are yet unfinished! ;D

Well I have a bet with your neighbor Zuriel in Beebe Ar. that I will get mine done before he gets done. His plane has been hanging on the wall for almost a year I think. If I win he has to buy me lunch at Brodaks next year every day.
PS- Hey John, you should car pool with Zuirel and Mike next time they come over to fly with us. Not sure how close you are to Beebe?

Paul, You build much faster than me. It's looking nice so far.
Stick the rudder on and spray it with Rustoleum, so you can bring it along with you in 9 days to the land of Cheese. LL~

Hey Chris,
I wish I had it ready to bring up to the Cheezehead Fun Fly and all trimmed out. It would not take much to have me put a "hurry up" finish on it. But I will try my hand at a "20ft finish" not a 20 point finish.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in 9 days! Hope the weather is good. Or at least a little cooler then it is here. f~

Paul,
Of the two planes I am working on now, the newest one is over 7 years in the works and then there is the Cavalier.
John,
You are always welcome to ride over with Mike and I anytime we go over.

One of these days I'm gonna look at my calendar, and there's gonna be a strange and ominous lack of appointments to the LRVA ;D

Hi Paul,
I can understand your frustration! I am in a similar situation when building. 15-30 minutes at a time is the norm. By the time I get back from work, cook, feed the kids, do their homework, clean the dishes, make lunches etc...I am exhausted. I do sometimes work on building planes from 10pm to 11:30pm evenings. that`s when the wife and kids are in bed y1. Then I can't get up in the morning! HB~>
It took me forever to complete an ARC superclown... Thank god I covered the wings with plastic!!! ;D
Good luck with your build and show us some pictures once its painted!

Yep a quote from the Ozarks. LL~ LL~ Dad always said and Iagree with him, "A Crow does not fly that straight". Especially when they get in the territory of some smaller birds. I now get into the shop and build when ever the family lets me now and have to include the Church. Last Friday was to go pick up Senior campers. Monday was to hook up a trailer for luggage, load 5 Juniors and caravan to camp. Left trailer there and came home. Only 6+ hours down, van doesn't get good mileage pulling the trailer. Then it 5 hours home even with severe storm at I got within 10 miles of home. Now I get to go to the shop. Doping the structures so I put the poly-span down/on. H^^

Hey, Rootbeard, you are going light years faster than I am at the present time! ;D
Not too long ago, I could knock out a plane rather quickly, including the finish, but now......... it is really difficult for me to even physically get down the stairs to the workshop..........
Don't rush it too much at this stage. You will have a really good flying model when that one is done.

Thanks Big Bear. Maybe you should move your work shop up stairs. y1

Lookin good old buddy. Is this first time for a full paint job? Looks like a great covering job on the wing. Finding time-priceless! HB~> HB~> HB~> LL~ LL~ LL~

Unfortunately, Brother Paul, that is one of the "impossible" items............ will just have to get up and down the stairs from now on......... can't even add a building outside on the property, against town regs since I have one out building already which is needed for the lawn care items, etc., storage. Did have a thought about adding an extension onto the screen porch/car port on the side of the house and building it in, but......... :(

Good ole city codes. After people tellng me what I could and could not do was getting to me. So I went and talked to them. They even had a satelite picture of my property. Was told I only needed a comcrete slab if the building was over a certain size. Showed them the plans and pics of the building I was putting up with and addition to it. Was told had to take down the metal storage shed I keep my lawn care equipment in. So far(knock on wood) it is still standing. By the way aren't all the kids gone? You could convert their old bedroom. LL~ LL~

Hi Doc,
Yep, both kids are "gone", but their bedroom was about 1/4 the size of my "shop" in the basement. I wouldn't even be able to get the table I build on in there! LOL!!
Things will get better at some point..........
