Well the 'Streak is ready to fly. ;D
My goal with this model was to create my own version of the model shown on the original Top Flite box art. I wanted to copy it as accurately as I could right down to the correct wing decal. I decided on orange because that was the only color used anywhere on the box art label that I was using for reference. Plus, I didn't want to use red because I thought it would look too much like the ARF 'Streak.
I fought a few minor issues spraying the final clearcoats last week mainly from my lack of experience in spraying with a compressor setup. No fault of the Brodak dope, just me. There are some areas that I'm not happy with but it just got to be time to call it good and get on with the next project. The wing decal was custom made for me by Emily Snelson at Control Line Central. She only had the original box art photo for reference and she did an excellent job with it. It's the "icing on the cake" for the model in my opinion. Thanks Emily! y1
I finished the final assembly tonight and it should be ready to fuel up and go. RTF weight as shown here is 32.9 ounces. Power is a Super Tigre .35 Stunt with a 3oz uniflow wedge tank. I'll start out with a 10x6 and 60' lines. I do plan to add a tongue muffler.
If anyone is interested in more details, I've posted a lot of information and photos during this project in the "Building Techniques" and "Painting and Finishing" sections here on Stunthangar.

Very Kewl. Like Ty said.... too nice for combat.

This one is just for a little nostalgia and funnin' around. y1

Bravo, Wayne! Looks real sharp and that decal is just right finishing touch. Supertigre C-.35's are great, in fact my favorite sport engines.
Awaiting flight reports........

The polished landing that matches the spinner is a real nice touch! Another great looking ( and no doubt flying ) project rolls out of the infamous Wiley Airplane Works....

That Combat Streak looks great. Now it makes me want to pull one of the kits off the shelf and build it. Nah, too much going on now. H^^

Holey moley, that's a great job right there! CLP**

Is it dry yet or will you have to cure it at BAD again this year? ;)
Seriously, way nice! I haven't even started on mine yet but the orange really sets it off. Hope to see it at BAD.

It's in the original post. He contacted Emily at ControlLine Central to make the decal.

That looks fantastic. I had one when I was a kid and I put a Sig bubble canopy on it with a Snoopy pilot. It looked pretty cool but the Snoopy added about two ounces. I got the kit from a hobby shop in Portland, Indiana when I was 13. That was 1979.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. H^^
Chris,
Emily at Control Line Central made the wing decal up for me. She did an excellent job on it and she had to create it from scratch using only the original box art photo that I had sent her for reference.
You've still got me stumped on the Bi-Slob though, I haven't figured out how to top you on that one yet! ;D
