It's finally finished and RUNNING.

Not Model Aviation BUT----

I made a test stand and fitted the engine last week.
I test ran it and all is well except for a few leaks. As soon as I replace some "O" rings, (they apparently sent the wrong size) the engine goes back in.
Very smooth, very LOUD!

Well, I don't know.  There seems to be kind of a sophistication mismatch there.  Are you sure that engine is high-zoot enough to be on that stand?

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Those look like Fram oil filters.  If they are do yourself a favor and replace them before running the engine again.  Use preferably with Wix filters.  I speak from experience here as the former Technical Editor At Stock Car Racing magazine for five years.  Fram is like McDonalds.  The don't make the best hamburgers but they do the best job of marketing.
That does look like a wonderful engine, best to you with it.

I wonder how much fun it must be to set those carburators...
Anyway, everybody loves ferraris ;D
What model is it?

We had a ferrari converted to EFI, I think it was a 308, the car runs great.

Not Fram they are Baldwin. Very good filters. Used by many fleet owners. Somewhat expensive.

Shouldn't be suffering for power on the windy contest days with this one, but it's gonna take a lot of tail weight to arrive at a proper CG. y1

Will an APC 12.25X 3.75 work on this??

As an Aircraft mechanic that does all his own maintenance I wholeheartedly agree! Cut open a Fram and compare it to the Wix or NAPA Gold. Cardboard has no business in a filter. The bypass valve alone should sell you on it.
ps- Beautiful engine! I'd enjoy tuning it!!

Bob,

Very nice, always good to see our other interest here, as to the wix filters, made right in my hometown, Gastonia NC would not run anything other than a Wix filter

I totally agree on the Wix filter.  The one and last time I used a Fram instead of the Wix, it cost me a tow fee and luckly not an engine.  The Fram gasket blew out on the highway.

HI Bob,

Looks great!  How does it compare to a 1960 250 GT engine?  Looks a lot like one even down to the 3 two bbls., headers, and oil pan.
