You guys should be ashamed of yourself, making fun of my poor, defenceless, innocent stooge is just not fair!

I don't make fun of your stooge. Well; maybe sometimes? I have seen some really ugly stooges in CL flying. Some of the nonhuman ones are pretty ugly too!

The photos are of my yellow Tom Morris Stooge. I fly off of both grass and pavement. Tom's excellent stooge works well on both. At about 12 pounds, and with a rough sandpaper bottom, it will hold any legal CL plane!
The reel is from Home depot and works perfectly. The white string is very visible, but your right, florescent orange would be better, but I'm too lazy to change it. ;-)
Since my motor stays at a low idle for 30 seconds(the plane does not move), the stooge is really just a safety backup. I would not fly without it.
The other reason I asked Mark to post the photos was to show the connection to the plane. This allows any plane to be launched without the need for a "hook" device built into the plane. This system has thousands of flights on it (not by me!) and has never failed, or caused any harm to a plane. The soft fuel tubing over the heavy leadout cable helps here. ..... I have seen it done with light rope, but I have no experience using this method.
I can highly recommend Tom's excellent stooge to anyone wanting a RTL system that is very well made, and idiot proof in operation.
The stooge that started this subject looks very good also. I just needed one that works well on cement and grass, and was a RTL unit.
BTW: if any of you make fun of my reel again, I will put orange chalk marks all over your body when I whip you with that string!
