I just saw in youtube that video, become more and more popular... but as i see in the comments most of the pople just wrote "f.a.k.e" : ) for me it's also hardly to explain..at least because i do not see tail? ; ) he use little bit his legs, but how is possible than to made so much lift.....if we accepted that he is about 70 kilo? to lift his own weight only using that...hmm just unbelivable....so i share with you : ) hmm and i want to made mark about secound video that machine which shows the flying graphic and also the move of mechanizm of wings..... i click on pause many times to see the proffile of airfoil : ))))) looks greate ;)

Wow. Is it?
-
Yup....somewhere I saw a video of the mechanism that flaps the wings....very complicated......
Neat stuff.....
Have fun!

massively fake. To do that for real would require an aircraft the size of Paul MacCready's Gossamer Condor from the 1970s Cramer prize.
It would, however, be fun to watch the guy in that getup jump off the ramp at one of the Red Bull Flugtag events! LL~

Yup!
Steve's right:

Ornithopters work so it is possible. However this video is fake. There is only one man carrying ornithopter to date and it is unable to lift off or climb under it's own power. It is also human power while the video you posted is said to be 95% electric power (if it were real). The video can be seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0E77j1imdhQ.
I posted the same video you posted in this thread because I found it interesting and thought others might as well. http://stunthanger.com/smf/index.php?topic=25773.0

I just had the mental image of a Banjock-carrying ornithopter. We must make sure he never sees the video. LL~

We've come a long way since the days people faked flying saucer pictures with chicken incubators and hubcaps hanging from strings!

I believe.

??? You mean that flying saucer wasn't made by Dodge??

Oh, the lack of knowledge is stunning. Everybody knows that Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth/Daimler/Fiat is just a front company for our Reptilian Overlords.

A stunning lack of science education is quite apparent.

Boy oh boy was I fished in when I watched Plan Nine From Outer Space.

For starters...
The physics of wing flapping isnt correctly applied. When you look at wings in high speed frame video the mechanics is extraordinary. Forward rotation of the leading edge, constant altering of the angle of attack at each half stroke. as well as forward and back not up and down as charactized by many birdman rally contests.
Not only is it fake becsaue the physics of the flight is incorrect ;
The film maker said its fake also..
If you still beleive its real - then give me your email address I need to forward you an email saying your the soul heir to a 1.5 billion euro fortune from Zanzere.

nope afraid its not. its a hoax done by a filmaker and spracial effects maker in finland I believe ir was. It was on the news. jim

I thought it was more effective to frisbee the hub caps.

Well, at least two of us were fished in!
For those who didn't have the pleasure, that movie won the "Golden Turkey" award. It was so cheap that when they couldn't find a space suit for the character, they used a gorilla suit and a diver's helmet.

would have been better if he had flown away with a little kid screaming and wriggling in his talons as he was flying off. WAIT! no talons!! Oh yeah that was another fairy tail. jim
