Unbelivable!
« on: March 02, 2013, 02:31:24 PM »
We all know that you can't leave (paper) masking tape on for long periods of time. When I was finishing my G' Nobler I framed the canopy with 3M plastic finishing tape, and covered the rest with Paper tape. At the end of the day I'd remove the paper tape and leave the finishing tape in place. Well, I got into a mess finishing and lost interest in it. Three years later (today) I got re-inspired for some reason and after months (years actually) of worrying about that plastic tape decided to attempt to peel it off.

Ya' know what? It actually peeled right off! It did leave a little adhesive behind on the canopy, but 2 drops of Goo-Gone, and it's brandy new. Really!

Just thought I'd pass this along. Mebby now I'll get back on the paint work.  <=

Wardo,
I had similar luck with the new 3m edge block 2080 tape. It was on a freshly doped plane! Peeled of like the day I laid it down 6 months later. If anyone hasn't used this tape give it a try!
