Hello Everybody
I was thinking of all the beautifully detailed warbirds I've seen and noticed i have never came upon a P-40. I have seen many beautiful mustangs (mostly by Al Rabe) but never a P-40. Are there planes out there for a Scale P-40? other then the one kitted by RSM.

Steve - there are a shedload of plans for P-40s - I have around 7 or 8 different versions - ranging from scale to semi-scale stunt......

Steve,
I kit bashed a Sig Magnum to a P-40 and it worked out great! (Except for the weight - that was back 16 years ago when I was still building with steel plate. Or so it seemed.)
The only real challenge was the canopy change and the cowling, but it was a fun and successful project. Powered it with my old Merco 61, a great choice.
Blessings,

Pat Johnston has a nice set of plans for a P 40. I had a set at one time and took them to a contest in St. Louis because a friend wanted to look them over and I put them in the wrong van HB~>, so somebody had a nice surprise I guess. Very nice set of plans.

Steve,
I should have some pics around somewhere, but my scanner is a bear right now. I'll look later to see what I can find, get out the 2 X 4 for the scanner and see what happens.

Steve, I think you should get the RSM P-40 kit. The full fuselage one, not the profile. It's for .35/.46...Pat really likes his with the .46LA and a bit more forward CG. I've seen it fly, judged it, and it flies about as close to an IMPACT as I've ever seen from a smaller size plane. You CANNOT go wrong. Just please, please, please, don't n1 n1 n1 n1 paint it with that baby poop tan desert color scheme. Ewwww! H^^ Steve
