Title: Is 65 ft. o.k.

I purchased an A.R.F. Cardnal from a disabled club member, It weighs in at 46 oz. with an L.A. 46 for power. I haven't been able to talk to him and forgot to ask other members on Sunday. Is 65 ft. from center of plane to handle a good starting line length? any help appreciated.

65 feet is an OK (as in safe) place to start, but you will probably like it better if the lines were a couple of feet shorter.  It is a useful trimming tool to have several sets of lines available in one foot increments.

Rich: I flew the prototype with .015 lines, 64 foot center to center and it flew fine.
It had the Brodak 40 for power so you should be OK with the OS 46.

I flew mine 61' eye to eye.

I have 3 Cardinals and fly them with a OS .46 on 018" at 61 feet eye to eye and they do well.

With 46 oz and 0.015" lines, 65 ft length you will notice a definite "drag" or "bow" in your lines while flying.  This is OK as long as it doesn't get too much on overhead flying.

My planes with .46 power use 0.015" X 63' eyelet to eyelet.
