Hi All:
My LHS has these engines left over from being new, they have been in the show case since the late 70's and are NIB. He is asking for $100.00 for the .20 and $125.00 for the 40. Are these a deal? What should I offer him? These are to be used as Stunt/Sport engines.

Both very good engines. However, the prices are WAY TOO HIGH! In the 80's and 90's I imported a bunch of Irvings through "Just Engines" in England. (BTW No relation to me, simply a company name as all they sold were engines) If your LHS has had them on display for 30+years he should make a better offer. Offer him $100 for the pair. My opinion only.

Irvine is a real crap shoot on the quality IMHO. When Tower carried Irvine we bought a bunch of them and parts. They were all inferior to the engines sold in England and some were real junk slapped together from the leavings on the factory floor. I finally got hooked up with a dealer in England (who ripped me off) and got enough good parts to make one work.
For those prices you could get a nice Brodak 40.
