Cox .049 needle setting?
«

I think I have been setting the needles wrong on Cox engines.
I start them up and then turn the needle until the engine is at it's highest RPM. Then let it go. Should I not back it off a few clicks?
What is the best way?
Thanks

Back the needle off about 1/8 of a turn from highest RPM unless you are racing and wanna buy a lot of engines.

The only way I can get a decent needle on them 1/2A's is trial and error. The best setting is when the engine runs a slightly rich two stroke and leans out for the last couple of laps. DOC Holliday
