Interesting p-38
« on: September 12, 2019, 03:52:47 PM »
Was in my local hobby shop recently. An older RC guy came in seeking help setting up his radio on a big (74") semi-scale  P-38 with twin K&B 61's.  Very pretty plane. A fraction under 700sq in. Retracts, flaps, 8ch system, etc.
I asked if he had flown it, he said no but was hoping to this weekend.  Cool. I asked about weight....... he said he had REDUCED the weight to 21.5 lbs!!!  4.5lbs per sq ft.
It's pretty, but I hope he has a long runway.
