Title: Installing Morris Control Horn

How do you install the Morris control horn? First time using one of these. Any help/pictures would be appreciated.

Hi Larry,

Could you be a little more specific?  Are you asking how to bend it to make the legs or how to install it into the flaps or elevator?  If you could be a little more specific it would help us go help you get the answer you are looking for.

I'm using Morris horn that is already bent at 4". Installing in the Tom Tom elevator. In the olden days, I would use the Veco horn, drill and notch the elevator and glue everything in wrapped in hinge material.

Larry are not a Veco and a Tom Morris elevator horn the same? If not what is it you have? ???

Hi Ed,

It might be one of Tom's adj. elev. horn.  Or a double arm horn.  ??

This is a flap horn but it should serve to illustrate some of the steps to installing the horn. The trailing edge is notched to clear the horn arm. The clips that Tom supplies are slid over the brass bushings and glued into slots in the trailing edge. The trailing edge is grooved as required to allow the centerline of the horn wire to line up with the centerline of the hinges. Hope this helps.

The horn is a standard horn. Since it has been a gazillion years since I used a Veco horn, wanted to see what the latest, greatest and neatest way to install the horn. The stab and elevator are only 1/8" thick. Can't use the bushings. Thanks for all the help and thanks to Bob Hunt for the pdf.
